I believe video is a great medium to get information over to a buyer. That could be it a buyer of a house or a buyer of a service such as a home owner hiring an estate agent, architect or builder. It can hold a persons attention longer, and give them more information via sound and vision than text or photos can. It can also be much more believable.


Up till now it has been under used but 2013 is when I think it will really take off. The production costs have dropped, equipment and techniques have improved. Many buyers are now researching on-line with much higher broadband speeds than we would have had even 2-3 years ago. This means they can watch video, even HD video.

Yes, it matters, it matters a lot, specially if you are trying to sell your home, a service or a product.

It is estimated that in excess of 90% of potential home buyers have there first interaction with a property on the internet and 84% say that once they have put in the information such as price range, location and type of property that their decision to see one house over another is primarily based on the photographs. I love architecture. I love homes and other cool spaces and I have a huge amount of respect for architects and trades people. So Today I am going to pay a little homage to the humble stair. Often just a way of getting from one space to another, a circulation space, but it can and often is a bit more, a beautiful element or a useful addition.
